Amy Gohal is a creature/character TD full of ambition and creativity. She currently lives in San Francisco and works at Academy of Art University teaching Character Rigging. Recently she finished projects at WhiskyTree as a Character TD and Intel in the Research and Development Department as a Lead VFX Artist. Prior to this she was at Laika as a CG Rigger in the RP Department.  Before Laika, she was working on projects at Rainmaker Ent., in Vancouver Canada as a Cloth TD. She has also worked in Los Angeles, California as a Character TD at Walt Disney Animation Studios (feature film division) and Motion Theory and as a cloth TD at Dilated Pixels. Her experience includes working from small houses such as Light-stream Animation to large companies such as Rhythm and Hues Studios. Amy has a Bachelor’s Degree in Animation and Visual Effects from the Academy of Art University where she studied hard and focused on rigging. Regardless that Amy recieved her BFA from the Academy, she has been called back off and on to teach MFA students Character Set Up and Rigging. She works closely with animators, modelers and concept artists to make sure everything fits together to their liking. Amy works well with others and loves being involved with group projects. She has a great willingness to learn everything and anything new and due to this she often finds herself in the center of something amazing.

In her spare time Amy is a huge comic book geek. She reads more comics than people can count and attends Wonder-Con and Comic-Con consistently. Due to her affliction to comics her cats are named after supervillains but are very friendly. Amy loves getting lost in story. She has an addiction to watching movies and reading mystery novels. She is an open person up for any challenge placed in front of her. Amy loves painting and updates her artist blog and artist page as often as possible. Though this takes a backseat to her work you can find new drawings or paintings posted randomly throughout the year. Amy enjoys different kinds of music and getting people together for events whether it is networking or just socializing.
